Block Of Grinda Affiliates: ‘Still In Love’

While sitting in a car crowned with white upholstery, Memphis rapper Young Block aka Block, of Grinda Affiliates, nods his head in the video “Block Baby (Still In Love),” his version of Twista’s song “Slow Jamz” featuring Kanye West and Jamie Fox while smoking one. The rapper starts off saying, “Ain’t gon’ call them h-es, cause since I’m a businessman … know what I’m saying, I’m gon’ call them ladies,” while his track played in the background on the car speakers.

Young Block, born David Williamson, who sticks with reality point of filming, stated that he wrote the lyrics while locked down in jail.

The rapper, who grew up with a rough upbringing in Memphis’ Hyde Park, was not afraid to make a song for the ladies stating, “… that don’t mean I’m a b!tch.”

Listing some of his influences as Common, Lil Wayne, Tupac and Memphis’ own Don Trip, Block can be heard lacing the “Still In Love” track with his lyrical influence and self expression.
