Gmail may have been hacked, reports say, but likely not. However, if you are worried if your Gamil account was on the list of over 5 million addresses and passwords leaked online, you can check and found out easily.
One way users can find out if their email has been compromised is to type their email address into a security alert tool here and it will let you know if your account has been exposed.
Another step, which may be even better, is to set up a two-step verification with Gmail.
Though, the second option is not to let you know your account is hacked, it will further secure your account likely preventing further issues if you are one of those on the list.
With the two-step verification, you are required to enter your password and verification code before getting access to your email.
Always remember also, make your passwords strong by using caps and non caps, as well as numbers and special characters.
Meanwhile, even though there is no evidence, according to Google, that Gmail has been breached, the technology giant still suggests that users take steps to further protect their accounts.
