Ed McMahon, 85, show host, announcer, and television personality is facing foreclosure on his Beverly Hills mansion after falling $644,000 behind on payments for mortgage loans totaling $4.8 million.
The 85 year-old comedian, game show host, announcer, and television personality is currently facing foreclosure on his Beverly Hills mansion after falling $644,000 behind on payments for mortgage loans totaling $4.8 million. All this came to light when a division of the Countrywide Financial Corporation filed a default notice on Feb. 28 with the Los Angeles County Recorder’s Office.
So why hasn’t any payments been made? Reportedly the celebrity announcer and star hasn’t been working for the last 18 months after breaking his neck, which may have contributed to him defaulting on his mortgage loans. According to Howard Bragman, Ed McMahon’s rep, he’s not looking for a handout.
“The ideal situation would be that he would be healthy and be able to earn a living to pay for this house.”
No one is for sure whether Ed McMahon and his wife, Pamela, will remain in their cozy six-bedroom, five-bathroom house, that’s located within a hilltop gated community overlooking Mulholland Drive. Either way, if the house that’s been on the market for two years don’t sale at the listed rate of $6.25 million, a deal might have to be offered on the house.
