Explanation Behind Pimp C’s Blow Up

The problems that Pimp C has with ATL and the state of rap music in the South right now are similar to the way he felt about doing the song “Big Pimpin” with Jay-Z.

The problems that Pimp C has with ATL and the state of rap music in the South right now are similar to the way he felt about doing the song “Big Pimpin” with Jay-Z. Pimp C feels that the music is too “bubble gum” and too many rappers promote the wrong message. Pimp C comes from Texas the Mecca of underground music.

In Texas, they had to struggle a little harder than some cities in the south because of screw music. People up north really didn’t respect the music because it was so slow. So Pimp C’s argument is basically saying the South especially Texas worked too hard to get to where it is to loose it because of a few bad apples. The only reason ATL was put at the forefront of Pimp C’s blowup is because ATL is responsible for much of the music that goes mainstream out of the South.

Pimp C stated, “Anybody out there doing crunk music needed to be sending a shout out to 3-6 Mafia cause, ya’ll know that’s where that came from.” Pimp C advises everyone to listen to his second part of the interview he said there will be some more stuff in it to get some people’s “jaws tight.”
