Join us for an engaging, open discussion on the impact and affect of hip hop culture on popular culture both nationally and on our home turf in Memphis with Dr. Kenneth Whalum, Jr., the author of “Hip Hop Is Not Our Enemy,” as well as recording artist Mr. Del, Hallelujah FM’s Tracy Bethea and Hot 107.1’s Mo Better.
Dr. Whalum, an astounding philanthropist in his own right, a strong-hold throughout the Memphis community, and survivor of a church split due to his dedication to co-opting hip-hop culture, believes it is essential to lead the churches and its children in the right direction; and time is overdue to end the blame of hip-hop for social ills.
