Celebrity choreographer and dancer Rosero McCoy, who has choreographed with the likes of Beyonce, Michelle Obama, Usher, Keke Palmer, Jonas Brothers, Toni Braxton, Bella Thorne and others, will be bringing his skills to Memphis to teach aspiring and advanced dancers skills and information to help them along the way.
McCoy, who has choreographed for several music stars and entertainers, has also choreographed for movies and television series such as Honey 2, Camp Rock 2, Step Up, Beauty Shop, Austin & Ally, Shake It Up, MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and more.
Rosero McCoy will be offering this one-of-kind experience with the Memphis Black Arts Alliance (MBAA) headed up by Bennetta ‘Bennie’ Nelson West.
“Excitement, Joy, Challenges, Pride, Fun,” and “a boost in their artistic resume” is what dancers can expect at the Master Hip Hop Dance Class, Ms. West stated to MemphisRap.com.
The Los Angles-based Rosero McCoy, who tells us that he has family in Memphis, adds that dancers can expect, “A great dance day filled with knowledge of the industry through an informative Q&A and also ‘dope, fun dance combinations’ for them to learn.”
Rosero adds that dancers will gain “a better understanding of who they are as a dancer and overall performer.”
While visiting Memphis, Rosero McCoy says he hopes to get some good down home cooking while enjoying some time with family while here.
The Master Hip Hop Dance Class takes place February 8, 2015 at the Evergreen Theatre at 1705 Poplar Ave with two classes available – a beginners class at 5:30PM and an advanced class at 7:00PM.
According to Ms. West of the MBAA, whose mission is to build the community through the arts and provide heritage-based arts experiences which help people feel good about themselves and others, she states that the Hip Hop Master Class is for dancers only but has space for others such as parents and family to wait while the dancers partake in this amazing opportunity.
