After pleading guilty, the friend of hip-hop label executive Irv Gotti (Murder Inc.), Kenneth ‘Supreme’ McGriff, 46, has been convicted in a federal death penalty case for hiring hitmen for $50,000 to kill two rivals in 2001.
The drug kingpin was found guilty in New York yesterday of murder conspiracy and drug dealing. He was acquitted on lesser drugs and weapons charges after four days of jury deliberation.
Kenneth ‘Supreme’ McGriff is known for creating the notorious drug crew “Supreme Team” based in Queens, NY in the 1980’s. In the 1990s after serving an earlier prison sentence the Kingpin teamed up with Irv “Gotti” Lorenzo and pursued his dream of producing movies.
The jury will return to court in Brooklyn next Tuesday, Feb 5, 2007, to consider serving McGriff a death penalty.
