Drake Talks Yo Gotti + Recording and Reppin Memphis On His Next Album Project

Drake, who calls Memphis his home, says Memphis is a place he holds dear to his heart and a place he wants to start talking more about and maybe even do some recording at for his next music project.

In an interview with MTV, the rapper who’s currently on his Club Paradise Tour with his latest stop being Memphis, told correspondent Sway Calloway that Memphis is a place of many moments for him that meant a lot to him such as rolling with Yo Gotti when he was younger, sitting and watching the rapper record, which shaped a lot of what he wanted to do.

“Memphis is a place I hold dear to my heart, actually a place on this next project I just want to start talking more about and maybe even do some recording out there, just to reconnect with that.”

In addition, the rapper acknowledged his love for rap music due to witnessing rapper Gotti who was rising at the time, when Three 6 Mafia were the Memphis artists people knew, during his stay in Memphis.

“I would definitely give him a lot of credit for just embracing me,” Drake stated when he spoke about sitting in and watching Yo Gotti which helped shaped Drake during his early days.

Meanwhile, Drake is on the U.S. leg of his Club Paradise Tour and enjoying sharing the stage with his tour-mates. According to the rapper, he wants everyone to see unity in hip-hop since confrontation is always surrounding it.
