The Cash Money/Young Money rapper and singer Drake, 25, has one thing to be proud about and that is he has gotten his high school diploma.
The “Best I Ever Had” hip-hop artist told fans on Thursday during the Tyra Banks “Flawsome Ball” and charity in New York that he took some time off from the music business to go back to high school.
Drake was happy to tell the crowd, “I got my high school diploma.” The crowd screamed ecstatically to show their approval of his decision.
According to Drake via Twitter, he earned a 97 percent on his final exam and 88 percent in his course work with his private tutor Kim Janzen, who he says spent the last 5 months working with him tirelessly.
Drake dropped out of high school for his acting career and to star in a role as Jimmy Brooks on the teen drama television series “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” which originally was aired on Canada’s CTV and later broadcasted on MuchMusic, TeenNick, MTV and ABC Family.
Meanwhile, Drake has another thing to be excited about also, the rapper will be celebrating his birthday early. According to Drake he’ll be celebrating in Washington tonight both his graduation and birthday.
Drake will be turning 26 on October 24.
