Craig Brewer actually told MemphisRap.com how the rumors got started, “I actually spoke with Terrance Howard last year on the red carpet about would he do a Hustle & Flow 2 and he said yeah man he would do it and we’re gonna do a Hustle & Flow 2.” “I think that’s how the rumors got started,” stated Brewer.

When referring to reports that the movie would be filming this year, Craig Brewer stated that this is not true. Brewer stated that he did speak with another media source recently about Hustle & Flow 2 but he only stated he had ideas for it, the script hasn’t been written and no cast has been put together like other reports have stated.
