The Indianapolis Colts were lead by Hall of Famer Peyton Manning to a 29-17 victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI on Sunday. But that wasn’t the only excitement of the night.
Well, this year’s Superbowl was no different. The halftime though not as hot, compared to Super Bowl XXXVIII’s Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s performance heard round world due to Janet’s nipple slip, was still quite heated with a live performance by legendary singer/performer Prince which many where awaiting his performance of legendary tracks “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Party Like It’s 1999,” and “When Doves Cry” at halftime.
Stand-out commercials were the Super Bowl commercial for Nationwide Insurance which portrayed a blinged-out Kevin Federline daydreaming of performing in a rap video which ended with K-Fed’s dream of a rap-star being ended by his fast-food boss awakening him. Another was the goofy spot for Doritos showing a hapless driver distracted by a pretty woman passing by; Coca-Cola Co. with a number of creative ads, including an homage to Black History Month; and of course Bud Light, which showed an auctioneer saying wedding vows at hyper-fast speed.
The Super Bowl victory was the Colts’ first since the 1970 season when the club, playing in Baltimore, defeated the Dallas Cowboys 16-13.
