Casting Call For Craig Brewer’s Black Moan Snake at The Pyramid

There will be a casting call for “Black Snake Moan” which is written and directed Craig Brewer, the man behind “Hustle & Flow.” More than 350 extras and crews members are expected to be needed for this film.

The the title of the movie “Black Snake Moan” is inspired from a 1920’s song recorded by Texas’ Blind Lemon Jefferson which will star the one and only Samuel L. Jackson. Samuel Jackson will play a blues guitarist “Lazarus Woods” who is a father figure to a young woman who is a sex addict played by Christina Ricci. Jackson will help regain her trust in life and herself to overcome problems by chaining her to a radiator in a little house in the country to keep her from going out and having the whole town treat her like a doormat. Ricci’s boyfriend will be played by Memphis’ own Justin Timberlake.

“Black Snake Moan” starts filming September 12, 2005 at the Pyramid in Memphis, TN and is set to be released July 13, 2006 by Paramount Classics and MTV Films.

Auditions held August 22, 2005 at the Pyramid from 11 am – 5 pm.
