Busta Rhymes “Trevor Smith” is set to get charged after allegedly assaulting an employee on Boxing Day at his New York office HQ.
According to sources one of his drivers Eddie Hatchett, 39, filed the complaint which stated that he went to see the rapper so that he could collect money that was due to him, but instead was beaten up by the rapper. Eddie Hatchett was noted as stating that he was repeatedly struck by the hip-hop music star where he was cut in the face from the blows.
Currently the 34 year-old rapper is stated to be out of the country according to his attorneys and has not been charged just yet. Once the hip-hop rapper returns the charges will be sought out. Reports say he will be charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, on his return.
Eddie Hatchett initially declined to discuss the case. Then he said, “I’m just an average Joe trying to support my family.”
Busta Rhymes is already facing charges of assault, attempted assault and harassment for allegedly beating up a fan who spit on his car in New York. Roberto Lebron was repeatedly kicked in the head and body which gave him cuts, bruises and a concussion police reported.
Busta Rhymes was offered a plea deal by prosecutors for six months in the slammer, but Busta Rhymes didn’t like the offer and declined.
The rap artist also faces charges for criminal possession of a weapon, after a machete was found in his car in August 2006. He is being accused of felony assault and harassment after police searched his vehicle and found the 10-inch blade. Busta Rhymes is set to appear in court on February 20, 2007 for this case.
