New York based rapper, actor and music producer Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr., “Busta Rhymes,” who was arrested for DWI (Driving While Intoxicated ) the morning of Thursday, May 3 has now been released on bail.
This is the fourth incident for Busta Rhymes happening in the past nine months. In February, the rapper/actor and music producer was arrested for allegedly driving on a suspended license and aggravated driving. On February 20, 2007 Busta Rhymes refused a plea deal offered by the prosecutors office for the assault of his former driver, Edward Hatchett, the deal would have entailed 6 months in jail and pleading guilty to two assaults, the attack on Hatchett, and the attack on the former fan. On August 20, 2006, Busta Rhymes was arraigned for charges of third-degree assault after attacking a man who reportedly spat on his car in New York City on August 12 after the AmsterJam Music Festival on Randalls Island. On March 30, 2006, Busta Rhymes was accused of homophobia after he allegedly lashed out at a gay fan while at a diner in Miami.
The rapper is expected to appear back in court on Tuesday May 8 for the DWI charges.
Busta’s new album release entitled “Before Hell Freezes Over” has an expected release date of June 26, 2007.
