Many are questioning whether President Bush endorsing John McCain will help his campaign or harm it. Bush states whether his endorsement helps or not, he still wants the republican candidate to win.
Obama gave his thoughts on the “fundraising” for John McCain stating, “Today, John McCain is having a different kind of meeting. He’s holding a fundraiser with George Bush behind closed doors in Arizona. No cameras. No reporters. And we all know why.”
“Sen. McCain doesn’t want to be seen, hat in hand, with the president whose failed policies he promises to continue for another four years. But the question for the American people is: Do we want to continue George Bush’s policies?” he said.
Whether McCain is as an extension of Bush as some may put it, does the United States exactly want McCain to continue on what Bush has started as Obama has suggested?
When the White House press secretary Dana Perino was questioned about Bush’s involvement in McCain’s campaign, the answer that was given was Bush isn’t on the ticket, but from the looks of it from the outside it seems as just that.
“At the end of the day, any candidate who’s running for office has to stand on their own two feet. They have to chart a course for themselves. Every election is about change,” Perino stated.
