Microsoft and AMD pulls off a big one by giving bloggers Acer Ferrari’s laptop bundled with Windows Vista over the Christmas Holiday. It’s stated that more than 90 bloggers got a chance to test the $2,200 laptop (Acer Ferrari 1000 or 5000) fully loaded with Windows Vista their lastest operating system.

Since the giveaway many are questioning the decisions of Microsoft as to whether this was a good move. Bloggers scream yes, because they’re thinking of the little guys. Microsoft only requested that they evaluate the systems and then either return it to Microsoft, give it away, or keep it.

Click for larger viewWhile not all the bloggers on their list of deserving contributors didn’t get laptops, some did receive the Vista Media Center. One blogger who received the Vista Media Center stated that he received an email from Microsoft asking if he wanted a custom built Vista Media Center from Velocity Micro which he was skeptical of and checked headers before replying. The Vista Media Center came loaded also with Windows Vista, Office 2007, and contained X2 5000, ASUS mobo, SATA, ATI x1950, and ATI Theater Pro 660 tuner.

This is not to say that Microsoft laptop giveaways or emails are always real, but this could possible change how you check email. But in the meantime if you are a true blogger with a technical or digital blog, what you write about may influence what you receive at your doorstep.
