Battlefield 6 Is Dominating Sales, Beating Out Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Prior To Release

A number of people got to play Battlefield 6 as early beta testers, and from their reports — it’s really good. And apparently we think so too, because it hit #1 on Steam’s best-selling games chart for the week of September 30 – October 7, 2025.

What Does #1 Mean?

Basically, more people are buying Battlefield 6 right now than any other game on Steam. That’s pretty exciting considering the game doesn’t even come out until tomorrow (Friday, October 10, 2025). People are that hyped to play it.

Now everyone’s wondering: how many players will actually be online when it launches (the concurrent users)? The pre-orders are insane, so the servers are probably going to be packed on release day and hopefully EA is ready for it.

Beating the Competition

Here’s the thing— Battlefield 6 is beating some seriously popular games. It’s ahead of the Steam Deck (#2), new sports games, and even classics like Cyberpunk 2077 (#6) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (#10) that people still love playing.

But the best part? Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is sitting down at #7 (release date: November 14, 2025). If you know anything about shooters, you know Battlefield and Call of Duty are like the ultimate rivals. Right now, Battlefield 6 is winning big when it comes to new upcoming releases.

Is Activision’s Being Petty?

Speaking of Call of Duty, Activision is definitely feeling the pressure. They just wrapped up the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta (which we also got to test this week), and now they’re pulling a sneaky move. They’re offering Black Ops 6 (last year’s game) completely free to play from October 9-16. You get the full campaign, all the multiplayer modes except Ranked, all six Zombies maps, and even The Haunting event content.

The timing is pretty obvious—they’re trying to steal some thunder from Battlefield 6’s launch. Classic competitor move!

Why Everyone’s Excited?

After playing the beta, we’ve been totally waiting for the release. The game-play feels smooth, gun-play is good, awesome graphics and sound design. Battlefield 6 has a variety of exciting game modes. You can play in big battles like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush, or jump into smaller, faster fights in Domination, King of the Hill, and Team Deathmatch. There’s something for every kind of player!

Like all games, there were some cons that were experienced during the beta and we may experience a few during the live release, but we’re optimistic they’ll be taken care of quickly by the devs.

In the meantime, tomorrow’s gonna be huge when it finally drops. If you’re into first person shooters and action games, this is definitely one to check out. We can’t wait to see you all online!
