Barbershop Star Anthony Anderson, Charged with Aggravated Rape On "Hustle and Flow" Movie Set

Actor Anthony Anderson, the comedic co-star of Kangaroo Jack and Barbershop who has been in town the past few weeks filming the movie “Hustle and Flow” has posted $20,000 dollars bond and is now expected to appear in court Thursday. The actor, who was charged on Wednesday for a sexual assault and aggravated rape charge on the set of Hustle and Flow, spent about four hours in the Shelby County Jailhouse before bonding out of the jailhouse without saying a word.

According to an affidavit, a film extra on the movie claims the 33-year-old actor and a production crew member Wayne Witherspoon sexually assaulted the woman in a trailer on the set of the movie taping Tuesday afternoon at the Shelby County Correctional Center before a witness heard the woman scream and unlocked the trailer door as the woman ran out of the trailer naked.

According to the young lady, one of two men lured her into a production trailer parked on the facility and once inside both criminally assaulted her, said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Shular.

Anderson’s spokesman, Allan Mayer, who specializes in celebrity crisis cases, told The Associated Press his client “absolutely denies the heinous charges.”
