Celebrity choreographer Rosero McCoy, who has choreographed for Step Up, Camp Rock, Honey 2, MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” and has choreographed with the likes of Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Toni Braxton, Usher, Jonas Brothers and others will be in Memphis.

McCoy, who visited Memphis, TN earlier this year, will be returning to give aspiring dancers and advanced dancers the opportunity to work with him and gain helpful dance information during the Hip Hop Master Classes.

Same as the last dance classes in Memphis, the event is being presented again by the Memphis Black Arts Alliance’s ‘Firehouse Community Arts Academy’ which is ‘the city’s first nationally affiliated independent, non-profit community arts school providing instruction in all of the major disciplines of the arts’ including music, dance, theater and visual arts, according to a recent press release statement by the academy.

With an aim to provide residents of the Greater Memphis area with a creative and nurturing environment to help their students develop personally and professionally, the academy’s faculty is bringing back the famed dance choreographer to present two Hip Hop Master Classes.

Rosero McCoy is one of the most established and well-rounded choreographers in the entertainment industry whose choreography credits also include Alvin and The Chipmunks I & II, Good Luck Charlie, Beauty Shop, Hair Spray, The Sing Off, among others.

As with last time, Rhonda Culver, who heads up the Memphis Black Arts Alliance (MBAA), tells MemphisRap.com that the classes again will be filled with “Excitement, Joy, Challenges, Pride, Fun,” and will be “a boost in their [the dancers who attend] artistic resume.”

Roseo McCoy, who last time told MemphisRap.com of his family ties to Memphis, is looking again to give dancers “A great dance class filled with knowledge of the industry through an informative Q&A and also ‘dope, fun dance combinations’ for them to learn.”

According to Rosero, dancers will gain “a better understanding of who they are as a dancer and overall performer.”

The Master Hip Hop Dance Class takes place August 23, 2015 at the spacious Brinson’s at 341 Madison Ave with two classes available – a beginners class at 5:30PM and an advanced class at 7:00PM. Parking is available across the street at Downtown Elementary.
