Alleged Dog Fighting Ring Busted

Memphis Police responded to a call today at a house in southeast Memphis and found 21 adult dogs and 25 puppies being used for dog fighting.

Memphis Police responded to a call today at a house in southeast Memphis regarding someone with a gun. When officers arrived they became very concerned when they searched the house and found 21 adult dogs and 25 puppies as well as paraphernalia used for dog fighting.

Lieutenant S. Green with the Memphis Police Department said, “Approximately 46 dogs were removed from this location and we are still investigating.”

Police also claimed that the dogs had scars on them that are signs of active dog fighting. The police also removed a treadmill used to train fighting dogs.

The case is still under investigation.
