Michael Jace, the actor that played a LAPD cop in the FX television drama “The Shield,” has been arrested and charged with homicide in the shooting death of his wife.
Authorities say, Jace was detained and booked on a homicide charge on early Tuesday in the shooting death of his wife April Jace.
Apparently police found April Jace, 40, in her south Los Angeles home Monday night dead from gunshot wounds believed to be the result of a domestic argument between her and her husband, Michael Jace.
Although Michael Jace has been charged, it was he that called 911 saying that his wife had been shot.
Police revealed that their two young children were at the home which was shared by the couple at the 5400 block of Brynhurst Ave in Hyde Park at the time she was shot to death on Monday.
Jace, who is currently in jail on a $1 million bond, reportedly had an angry argument with his wife over money problems that the star was facing derived from a debt he owed on their home as well as other financial problems, according to sources.
Having filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in March 2011, Jace reportedly owed over $500,000 in debt while bringing in an income of around $80,000 a year.
Michael and April Jace married in June 2003, a year after Michael divorced his first wife with whom he shares a son with.
Jace, who has had numerous roles in movies, played Michael Jordan in the film Michael Jordan: An American Hero as well as he played a Black Panther member in the 1994 hit movie Forrest Gump.
