Has Acer introduced what may well be the future of the all-in-one desktop computers with it’s Aspire R7 notebook? We’re leaning toward a yes.
The all new 15.6-inch Acer Aspire R7, which features a full HD display (1920 x 1080) touchscreen and Dolby Home Theater v4 speakers, will be hitting stores soon. The introduction of the new notebook comes in conjunction with a marketing partnership campaign for the Star Trek Into Darkness movie, which the Aspire R7 will be making an appearance in May 17th.
We’re sure that Acer fans will glad to see the brand new addition to the family.
In recent years, Acer has been secretly upping it’s game by listening to customers and with this new notebook/laptop, it will surely have competitors wanting to pinch off it’s ezel hinge, which is somewhat similar to an Apple i-Mac leg/stand. The ezel hinge is built right onto the laptop and allows you to twist and flip your laptop into a touchscreen tablet in a few seconds without compromising usability.
Similar, but not similar, to the features of maybe a Asus Transformer, which is a tablet which transforms into somewhat of a laptop when it attaches to a keyboard dock, the Acer Aspire R7 is a full notebook, which transforms into a touchscreen tablet.
The Acer Aspire R7 weighs approximately 5.5 pounds and features Windows 8, an Intel Core i5 processor, upgradable up to 12GB of memory, up to 1TB hard drive or 256GB SSD (solid state drive), full-sized back-lit keyboard, webcam, HDMI out, an SD card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, converter port supporting VGA, three USB ports and audio jacks.
Want yourself one? The Acer Aspire R7 is available for pre-order and will be exclusively at Best Buy for in-store and online purchase come May 17 for $999.
