The 2011 Southern Entertainment Awards and Conference are in full swing this weekend at the Memphis Cook Convention Center in Downtown Memphis, TN.
The 8th Annual S.E.A.’s kicked off Friday (March 4) with the Emerging Artist’s Showcase along with a “Welcome to Memphis” party that featured female DJ’s Dimepiece, Daisy Dukes, Beanz, Nina Stakz, and K97’s Bigg Sue. On Saturday (March 5) panelists informed S.E.A. participants about marketing, the role of women in the industry, the importance of the DJ, and much more.
This year, Sony Presented the S.E.A.’s first Beat Critique wherein Producers were rated on their beat production, presentation, and placement. Each beat, from producer’s who participated in the Beat Critique, will be submitted to Chris Brown, Jadakiss, J-Lo & more. Saturday’s conference ended with a Rip The Runway fashion show.
S.E.A. Weekend ends on Sunday (March 6th) with the official awards ceremony beginning at 3pm. Over 80 awards will be given out to artists, dj’s, producer’s and other industry people.
