46 Tennessee Teens Cited At House Party For Underage Drinking

When the Shelby County Sheriff pulled up on Friday night at a Tennessee house party of more than 6 dozen teenagers, someone probably shouted, “The cops are here, run!” These teens had no clue of what trouble they got themselves into, after neighbors complained and put an end to their wild drunken house party.

According to sources, 46 teens were cited and detained with a majority of them being under the age of 18. Out of the 46 that were detained, a very lucky but irresponsible sum of around 21 were able to get away from the deputies. Officers found some of the teens under the beds, in closets, in the attic, shower and hiding behind insulation.

Shelby County Deputies claim that the underage group had 15 cases of beer and a 17 year-old girl was so drunk (intoxicated) that she had to be rushed to the hospital after throwing-up a half dozen green and yellow pills. Not only did the deputies find beer, they also found about a dozen long guns with ammunition close-by.

The host of the infamous house party was 18 year-old Leighton Davenport, who appeared in court on Monday. Davenport seemed to have thought it would be nice (and of-course fun) to have a house party in his grandparents half a million dollar Lakeland, TN residence, which is in a gated area while the grandparents enjoyed themselves out-of-town on vacation.

Although no one reportedly was over the age of 21, twenty-two people, apparently over the age of 18, were ticketed for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, while 24 minors were released to their parents and received summons to appear before a judge.

Leighton Davenport wouldn’t give up where the alcohol may have come from and declined to comment about the party outside of the court house.

Meanwhile, Davenport, who was released on a $100 bond, faces disorderly conduct, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of alcohol.
