A new music center in Memphis is set to offer “new opportunities” to musicians, aspiring and established talent for the growing and rich music community in the city.
According to the Daily Helmsman, a $40 million dollar campaign has began to open a new music center on the vast campus of the University of Memphis.
The center is set to offer more stage and opportunities to students to perform, practice and study the fine art of music.
The new Memphis music center will be offering a performance hall with a seating capacity of up to 1200.
The University of Memphis campus already houses the Rose Theater but is looking to offer a fresh and new center that will allow for much larger productions to be presented at the campus and for their music program, which is the only doctoral degree-granting program in music in Tennessee.
