A baby girl was born and delivered vaginally at the weight of 13.47 lbs on Friday at University Hospital in Leipzig and has become known as the biggest newborn baby in Germany.
Baby Jasleen may not be the biggest baby born, but she’s definitely the biggest as of now in Germany. The biggest baby on record was born in 1879 weighing 23 lbs to a mother named Anna Bates who was born big herself and ended up being over 7′ feet tall.
The size of Jasleen at birth, however, is said to be due to an undiagnosed case of gestational diabetes, which is not uncommon for overly large sized babies whose mothers end up with glucose intolerance during pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Jasleen and her mom are stated to be doing fine after her birth.
After all that pushing and probably some slicing and a little stitching, both probably need some much needed rest.
