Philly rapper Christopher Roney better known as Cool C reportedly has been scheduled for execution for the killing of a police officer in 1996.

The infamous Philadelphia rap legend known for the hip hop songs “I Gotta Habit” and “Glamorous Life,” which come off the album also titled “I Gotta Habit,” has been on death-row since the shooting back on January 2, 1996.

The rapper is scheduled to be executed during the same month that he reportedly shot and killed a Philadelphia police officer named Lauretha Vaird after a botched bank robbery attempt.

Roney, along with another rapper he was working with named Steady B, real name Warren McGlone, and another accomplice Mark Canty, reportedly attempted to rob the PNC Bank in Philadelphia when they went to exit the bank and exchanged fire with the police. This is where the shooting of the female officer reportedly occurred and rapper Cool C was identified as the shooter.

Lauretha Vaird was reported as the first female officer to be shot and killed in the line of duty in the area of Philadelphia.
