ASAP Rocky Breaks Silence, Speaks on ASAP Mob Founder ASAP Yams Death

Rapper ASAP Rocky has broken his silence and spoke for the first time about the death of ASAP Mob founder, ASAP Yams.

Rocky, who attended the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend in Park City, Utah, dedicated a song to ASAP Yams at an afterparty.

ASAP Rocky is set to appear in a new movie entitled Dope which has been bought Sony for $7 million since it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

Following his afterparty set, ASAP Rocky sat down with Billboard and explained he had to cut his set short for mourning over the death of ASAP Yams.

Rocky revealed that he was jumping on a plane back to New York later that night to attend the burial of Yams.

The rapper claims the performance was “just going to stop [him] from crying” adding that he had to “address it.”

“I just got to keep it real,” Rocky states adding, “I can’t front” claiming that it “eats” at him to know in less than an hour he has to go bury his fallen friend and labelmate.

In addition, ASAP Rocky slammed the rumors that Yams overdosed on drugs claiming that “he didn’t overdose on any drugs” while declining to discuss Yams’ actual cause of death.

Hinting that ‘the show must go on’ although he’s in mourning, Rocky assured his fans that he’ll “be back in [his] zone in a bit” saying he “just got to get it together” adding after all this happened saying the ‘timing’ was so wrong.

On a positive note, Rocky added that he’s a “happy spirit, man” and will heal with time saying “God is good” and he’ll “keep faith” as he recognizes and claims he was “heartened” by all the condolences from his hip-hop peers including 2-Chainz, Drake, Wiz Khalifa and others.
