Check out the interview with Digichild as they break down more about their group and what they plan to bring to the Industry:

MemphisRap.com: Digichild, it was a pleasure hearing your music.

Digichild: Glad you enjoyed it. We put a lot of effort into making sure we do solid projects.

MemphisRap.com: So first off, where did the name Digichild come from?

Digichild: D.I.G.I. stands for Doin’ it and Gettin’ it, which basically means, however you do it and no matter what you do, if you can look at yourself in the mirror, Do You. That’s the life you chose. And that’s D’Life.

Digichild: The name D.I.G.I.-Child originated from our ages, because we were all 80’s babies, comin’ out of the Digital era. So our group name means the Child of the Digital era.

MemphisRap.com: Digichild consists of 4 members right?

Digichild: Right.

MemphisRap.com: What’s everyones’ role in the group?

Digichild: Foley is a Producer, an Artist, and Acting Manager. WhispheR is a Singer, Songwriter, and Director of Marketing and PR. Barz is an Artist, and Meazy is an Artist.

MemphisRap.com: Tell our readers a little about who you are as a group and what you’re bringing to the table?

Digichild: WE are bringing a unique mix of Down South Swag, with an Up North State of Mind. NO GIMMICK MUSIC!!! We represent for those that simply want to hear good music, with solid production, from talented artists.

MemphisRap.com: How did you all end up forming, I mean how did Digichild come together?

Digichild: The song “Rumors II Rest” from the latest project Hostile Takeover II (quick plug) puts it in detail, but short version… First it began with Barz, WhispheR, & I (Foley). Foley was introduced to Meazy, and we did a project entitled The X-Files, and continued to grow from there.

MemphisRap.com: Now I know a few of you have you own individual thing and releases planned.. So who’s first?

Digichild: First, it was Barz with the Hostile Takeover I. Then Foley came with the Hostile Takeover II. Coming up, there will be one more mixtape release later next year, with a couple of solo projects in between, to include WhispheR and Foley. There are some more artists in the works, but we won’t speak on them until later.

MemphisRap.com: What’s the name of the new joint now?

Digichild: Hostile Takeover II

MemphisRap.com: Is that an original album or mixtape?

Digichild: It’s a Mixtape, but it’s done a little differently than most mixtapes. It has a broad range of topics.

MemphisRap.com: So is the whole Digichild featured on this joint?

Digichild: Yes, but it mainly focuses on Foley.

MemphisRap.com: Are their any other special guest features?

Digichild: We have well known models, actresses, and independent film directors, along with a producer and bands out of New York.

MemphisRap.com: Who did the production?

Digichild: Foley did all of the production on the project.

MemphisRap.com: What’s the first single being pushed?

Digichild: So Fresh is the first single.

MemphisRap.com: So what’s everyone’s view on rap out of Memphis today?

Digichild: In general speaking, from what we’ve experienced and been told, most entertainers, producers, and other artists consider Memphis Rap one dimensional and dark, full of strings and heavy bass.

MemphisRap.com: What about Hip-Hop/rap period? Who ya’ll feeling?

Digichild: In some cases we can say that Hip-Hop is dead, but for the most part Hip-Hop is alive and coming back through artists who take the time to put a message in their music. Artists such as Jay-Z, Naz, Kanye West, and even, West Coast Rapper the Game.

MemphisRap.com: So what can rap fans expect from Digichild?

Digichild: More solid projects, a bigger, bolder leadership in Memphis Rap, and music that the young and old alike can appreciate.

MemphisRap.com: So where can readers find Digichild at?
