Indie Memphis Film Festival Announces New Dates for 2011

The Indie Memphis Film Festival is getting a late start this year returning to Memphis for the 14th time. The festival will be held Nov. 3-6, 2011.

The festival will be held at the Malco Studio on the Square, the new Playhouse on the Square and the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.

Last year the festival, which drew a record crowd of 7,800 and showed over 100 plus films, was reduced from 8 to 4 days and was held in late October.

This year’s judges will include producer Scott Mosier (a longtime Kevin Smith associate, from “Clerks” to “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”); screenwriter Larry Karaszewski (“Ed Wood”); producer Peter Gilbert (“Hoop Dreams,” “At the Death House Door”); Emerging Pictures co-founder Ira Deutchman; and Gill Holland (“Loggerheads”).

This year’s prize will be $25,000 in color grading and finishing services from Nice Shoes in New York City, plus a round-trip flight to New York.

Deadlines to submission run from April 1 to June 1, but the later the submission, the higher the fee.
