Introducing the Producer’s Corner

Greetings Rappers, Poets and Beat Makers! I am proud to announce a new segment for MemphisRap.Com called the Producer’s Corner. In an effort to help y’all make better music this column will provide guidance, and answer many of the questions that face aspiring artists and producers.

Our topics will cover both technical and business issues and present readers with a valuable educational tool. I plan to cover topics like; microphone fundamentals; compression: acoustical treatment and soundproofing; capturing a killer vocal; bringing out the beast in beat machines; analog Vs. digital sound; and many more.

Once we get started I also plan to offer a critique feature where we will listen to readers CD’s and follow up with some constructive feedback. We also plan to offer a recording workshop or two in the coming year.

We will feature a new column every 2 weeks. You can look for a new installment on the 1st and 15th of every month. So stay tuned and hold on!
