On yesterday (Monday, December 1), Philadelphia teen athlete Mo’Ne Davis, 13, was named Sports Illustrated 2014 Sports Kid of The Year.

Mo’Ne, a Little League phenomenon, who shoots half-court shots in basketball and throws a 70 MPH pitch in baseball, is featured on Sports Illustrated Kids front cover.

Watching a video of the Philadelphia little leaguer, it is no wonder why the honor student regardless of age, gender or race is wowing everyone who sees or watches her ability.

The amazing extraordinary player, who at 7 years-old grabbed the attention of her mentor Coach Steve Bandura, landed herself on the cover in an amazing way that was great enough to boot even Kobe Bryant off the national cover of Sports Illustrated.

The teen took baseball fans and everyone by storm when she became the first female player to pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series.
