Mom Andrea Walker Faces Death Penalty After Memphis Missing Baby Aniston Found Dead In Ditch
A Memphis mother, Andrea Walker, whose baby was reported missing in early January and was found over the weekend dead in a ditch in Millington, Tn, appeared before a judge on Tuesday after turning herself in on Monday.
Andrea Walker, 33, has remained silent over what happened to her 7 week-old daughter, Aniston Walker, who was reported missing by the infant’s father.
According to police, Walker initially told them that she had left her young baby home with her 3 year-old while she went to drop her 5 year-old son off at school and when she returned her daughter was missing. Walker says she called the father of her daughter, Aniston, and he then called police and an Amber alert was issued, as reported on MemphisRap.com.
Memphis Police Department’s Director, Toney Armstrong, told reporters on Tuesday that Walker is not cooperating with authorities.
Armstrong went on to say that Walker hasn’t made any additional statements nor has she confessed in the disappearance and death of her 7 week-old daughter, Aniston Walker.
Currently authorities are awaiting an autopsy report before they move forward and state that other parties could be involved.
Andrea Walker, who plead not-guilty during her arraignment, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder (first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child abuse and first-degree murder in perpetration of child neglect) and may face additional charges.
If convicted, Andrea Walker could face the death penalty or receive life in prison or life with parole.
Andrea Walker is due back in court on February 27.
