Kid Rock Says Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z Concert Tickets Are “Highway Robbery”

Kid Rock call ticket prices like Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z garbage and highway robbery

Rock star Kid Rock isn’t feeling the current ticket prices of artists such as Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z, who will be touring together this Summer for the “Legends of the Summer” tour.

According to Kid Rock, in an interview with Pier Morgan, he believes that the ticket prices and model scheme is robbing the average working person and that a person like him is willing to take a pay cut in order to help his fans save.

As part of the Kid Rock pay-cut initiative, he set-up a flat fee of $20 dollars for all tickets and $4 dollars a beer for his $20 Best Night Ever Tour (with ZZ Top, Uncle Kracker and Kool And The Gang).

“It has gotten out of hand. The price of concerts, the price of entertainment period. You know, whether it’s a sporting event or going to movies and buying a soda..,” stated Kid Rock.

Kid Rock added that he has always tried to keep prices fair and he’s proud that he can look someone in their eye and know that he’s helping to save a hard earned dollar for the working man/woman.

“But, how can we make it better? The artist comes in saying they want to get paid this much to show up, which is usually a lot of money,” stated Kid Rock.

Kid Rock explained that he went to Live Nation to see about taking everything from the beer to the parking and the price of tickets and putting it in a pot to split it up based on a fair number of the people that come and was told he would have to take a pay cut.

“No problem, I make a lot of money. I can take a pay cut. All my friends are taking pay cuts that are in the union, that are farming in Alabama, whatever it is,” the singer/rapper said.

Kid Rock, who was asked how much this would cost him, stated that it will cost “him,” and not his staff or those involved in the event, anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000 a night.

“If we do the numbers, it’s not going to be that much,” added Kid Rock.

When ticket prices of $225 for Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z’s concert was mentioned to Kid Rock, he called it “garbage” and “highway robbery.”

“It’s garbage, garbage. It’s highway robbery, I don’t care who you are. I would consider them a circle of friends in the business, but I don’t agree with it..,” said Kid Rock.

Kid Rock went on to say it’s best to be transparent with people and let people know there will be extra costs for things such as beer, t-shirts, hot dogs, etc.

“We’re going to have free coffee at the end, we’re going to have free subs outside in certain markets,” said Kid Rock who will be on tour this Summer.

Kid Rock did add that due to help of his sponsors such as Jimmy John’s, Jim Beam and Harley Davidson, he’s able to keep ticket prices down for his tour, which again will feature himself as well as Kool and The Gang, ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker.
