Memphis Tigers Win Over Tennessee Volunteers, 69-51

The Memphis Tigers defeated the Tennessee Volunteers in a rematch game with over 18,000 fans watching at the FedExForum on Wednesday.

With Antonio Barton hitting 4 of 5 three point shots, he helped the Tigers to lead past the University of Tennessee Volunteers, while University of Memphis sophomore Will Barton helped to end the game with over 10 points. Tarik Black scored 18 points with a team-high of seven rebounds.

The two Universities where battling it out for the non-conference victory.

It wasn’t all grand for the Tigers in the first half as the Volunteers were holding on to the lead, but mid-way through the Tigers came to reclaim what was theirs and ended the games with 69-51.

The University of Memphis Tigers basketball team will be going into the Conference USA opener today, Saturday, Jan. 7, in Birmingham, Alabama with a 9-5. The Tigers basketball team will be playing up against longtime rival the University of Alabama Blazers.
