University of Virginia Lacrosse Player Murders Ex-Girlfriend, Yeardley Love

University of Virginia’s Men’s lacrosse player George Huguely has been charged with the death of women’s lacrosse player Yeardley Love. Huguely, 22-years of age, and Yeardley, also 22, recently broke up and George wanted to get back together but Love did not.

Police chief Timothy Congo said Love’s roommate called the police about 2:15am because she was concerned that Love overdosed on alcohol, but when the police arrived she was pronounced dead.

Police found physical injuries to Yeardley’s body that clearly showed she was severely beaten. There were no word of any weapons used, however, the blood on the walls proved her head was banged on it several times.

The university, as well as the community, were all totally shocked and naive to the fact that anything like this could happen to their own.

“Just to hear that anybody in the UVa community could be suspected of that, regardless of the relationship, does give you a sense of unease,” Congo said.

Situations like these happen alot and although it’s sad, it is still extremely real everywhere. Our hearts go out to both parties families and friends.

George Huguely is currently in jail awaiting trial.
