Memphis Grizzlies announced on Tuesday that they had signed first-round draft pick O.J. Mayo and 27th selection Darrell Arthur.
The 6’5″ 200-pound guard, Mayo, who was the third pick in the draft by Minnesota, averaged 20.7 points, 3.3 assists and 1.6 steals a game as a freshman at USC and was a finalist for the Naismith and Wood awards.
Arthur, who has actually been traded twice since being the No. 17 pick by New Orleans to Portland and Houston, is a 6’9″ 225-pound forward who averaged 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds as a sophomore at Kansas. Memphis made an exchange of Donte Green, the 28th-overall pick, for Arthur.
Terms of the agreements were not released, however, both players are expected to take part in the NBA Summer League beginning Friday in Las Vegas.
