FireFox 3 Browser Comes Out of Beta, Unleashing Full Version June 17

FireFox Browser, the open-source browser based off of Netscape's code, is preparing to release version 3 of its browser come June 17.

FireFox Browser, the open-source browser based off of Netscape's code, is preparing to release version 3 of its browser which has been in development and beta for more than 34 months. The developers [Mozilla] of the browser are hoping to set a new Guinness Book record on next Tuesday for the most downloads in a single day. In celebration of it, Mozilla will reportedly deem the day as "Download Day" and will be celebrating with a BBQ and a Nintendo Wii tournament at its headquarters in Mountain View, California.

While Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 is laying low until the end of the year, Mozilla is hoping to grab some of Microsoft's market before the release of it's Internet Explorer 8, which is currently available in a beta version.



[B]What's New In FireFox[/B] New features for FireFox include improved drop-down menu, new bookmarking features, optimized Open in Tabs, one-click site info, enhanced zoom capabilities to improve readability while maintaining the intended layout of the page, a new downloads manager, new security features, anti-virus integration, alerts to warn users if they're visiting sites known for malware, spyware and viruses that's listed on a blacklist, new web forgery protection page and the ability to honor parental controls in Windows Vista.

FireFox is a favorite among web users due to it being fast loading, and users having the ability to add on a number of add-ons. In addition, if you're a developer, you can also benefit by developing your add-ons since the browser is "open-source".
