Giants NFL Star Michael Strahan Retires After 15 Years

New York Giants NFL player, Michael Strahan, retires a few months after winning the Super Bowl championship. After 15 year NFL career, the football star will be leaving behind a $4 million contract.

After 15 years, defensive end NFL player Michael Strahan, 36, for the New York Giants, retires after winning the Super Bowl championship against the undefeated New England Patriots with 17-14 in February. Strahan is stated to have hinted that he would be leaving in February. After he notified the Giants co-owner John Mara, Strahan was offered more money to stay another year, however he decided otherwise. The Professional NFL star will be leaving behind a 2008 $4 million contract.

Strahan who was born in Houston, played college football at Texas Southern University and was drafted in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the New York Giants and played his entire football career for the Giants.

In other news, in early 2007, Strahan’s ex-wife allegedly received $15 million in a divorce settlement, which was more than half his assets. Later in 2007, a book co-written by Strahan as an autobiography titled “Inside the Helmet: Life as a Sunday Afternoon Warrior,” was released and gave the ins-and-outs of the NFL and what some players do inorder just to make it to the field.
