Police Seize 89 Pounds of Marijuana, Rapper Arrested and Five Others

More than $404,000 worth of marijuana was found by police which resulted in an arrest of six people where one of them was rapper Gillie da Kid from the Erie Avenue area of North Philadelphia.

More than $404,000 worth of marijuana was found by police which resulted in an arrest of six people where one of them was rapper Gillie da Kid from the Erie Avenue area of North Philadelphia.

The arrest happened after two FBI agents received a tip which sent them to two nearby houses after they were stated to have been canvassing a neighborhood earlier for a cocaine case. Police watched the rapper Gillie da Kid for several hours under surveillance and witnessed him receiving a delivery of marijuana. After watching the alleged drug dealers for several hours, the police then took them all down as they got ready to leave Tuesday night in their luxury cars, including a Jaguar and a Lexus..

The operations are stated to have been lead by Sar’d Nasir “Gillie da Kid” aka “Nasir Fard”, 30, of the 1100 block of Passmore Street whose promotional posters featured him surrounded by pot plants.

The rapper and his associates are stated to have been the ones supplying numerous drug dealers around the city of Philadelphia.

The police arrested Gillie da Kid and his associates Mark Jeffries, 41; Rhashima Brown, 34; Regina Little, 27; Garnell Brown, 25, and Izeem Ruffings, 25 – all of Philadelphia. Each was charged with conspiracy and possessing narcotics with intent to deliver.

The rapper was one of the founding members of the rap group Major Figgas and has had solo deals with Suave House Records and Cash Money Records. Gillie da Kid appeared on the Eightball & MJG song Armed Robbery.
